Best book out there to prepare you for the CLEP. I study for three weeks using other books and fail the practice clep exams they have available online. After studying this book for less than a week I was passing with high grades. This book gets to the fundamentals and forgets about the fluff. Highly recommend this book for anyone considering taking the American Government CLEP test. The information is great. The price is hard to beat, considering my other books cost double or triple the amount of this simple short-novel style paperback. Thanks CLIFF NOTES.

I relied solely on this book and the practice exam in the Official CLEP Study Guide and was able to pass with a 66. I had very little prior knowledge of American Government and found that this book contained everything I needed to know for a passing grade. I did learn the information in the book very thoroughly by outlining, creating flashcards, and extensive review for a couple of weeks. The test was difficult but passable if you take the time to learn the information presented in this guide.

I was looking for a book to refresh my memory before taking the American Government CLEP. I read the other reviews here and decided to give this a chance. It is a really quick read, and it is a great book for last minute cramming. If you are looking for a book that you can skim the night before the CLEP and still learn the relevant information, get this book.

I would rate this a 3 on a scale of 5 for difficulty this is not the easiest, but read the book and know your amendment and articles and important supreme court cases you'll do fine.
