My son who is 14-year-old, loves internet so much, he has been sitting at his computer all day except school hours, surfing internet. I am really worried about his physical and mental health. Dose anyone has same experience? Dose anyone can share with us how he/she help the kids on this problem?

One point from psychology about this is the kid has anxiety. Internet has a lot of content so that the kid is overwhelmed by that and forget his/her anxiety temporarily. That is why it is so hard to get rid of it.
So, find some ways to let them release their anxiety is important.
(sorry I don’t have chinese input at my office’s computer)

English is very welcome!
Good point!Sometimes, I think it could be my fault, because I was focusing on working too much, did not pay enough attention on my son. Yes, let them reading a book and then discuss on it together. Enrolling him to a sports club……
By the way, one of the goals of the website is to bring English, Chinese and Japanese speakers together and sharing ideas. I plan to translate comments to other two langauges, what do you think, Kathy?

Too much time on the computer is a growing habit. The reality is that online communication and games are fun, and there are a limited supply on there. Internet play is the encouraged passive time in social groups and even in the schools. The best defense for a parent is to establish computer use rules and utilize a means for your child to succeed at them. You can read this article for more information if you would like:
