I think the answer to the question is “Yes”. Teens play games and spend a lot of time surfing internet everyday, especially in summer vacation. I suggest a high school student to work in summer to have a chance to gain real-world experience. Summer jobs can help teens to build a sense of responsibility, which is one of the most important things for their life and to learn time management skills, one of the keys to success. By working, they will understand the priceless value of time. Of course, not let the teens over work. To balance study, physical exercise and working is the key. Parents should guide high school students to overcome difficulty and help them succeed in summer jobs.
Parents should encourage teens to take the jobs linked to an official school program, usually called work-based learning programs, which can increase their knowledge and skill for employment in particular occupations. This actually helps them to understand and master what they learned in the classroom, even help them achieve higher college entrance grades.
Prepare well and then take a summer job will help teens grow healthily both physically and mentally, which prepare them for leaving home and going to college handling many things by themselves.
