There are some cultural differences between Japanese and American individual lifestyles. Examples are Americans promote self-expression, while Japanese promote self-restrain. Americans like speaking up one’s emotions, such as happy, sad, while Japanese usually hide their emotions. Americans answer questions clearly using “Yes, or No”, while Japanese usually not answer the question in directly way when in the “no” situation. The priority of Americans is self-interest, while the priority of Japanese is the harmony with others.
