There are some cultural differences between Japanese and American individual lifestyles. Examples are Americans promote self-expression, while Japanese promote self-restrain. Americans like speaking up one’s emotions, such as happy, sad, while Japanese usually hide their emotions. Americans answer questions clearly using “Yes, or No”, while Japanese usually not answer the question in directly way when in the “no” situation. The priority of Americans is self-interest, while the priority of Japanese is the harmony with others.

In my opinion, Westerners respect for personality, which is conducive to exert creativity and potential of each individual, and Asians stress team work, which helps people to enhance collaboration capabilities. I think a combination of both can achieve the largest improvement of productivity in a society.

Asian education has serious, systematic and coherence features.
American education has democratic, practical and scientific features. I think that a fairly complete modern education needs the combination of the two types of education.
