AP Physics Book

AP Physics includes three categories of high school physics courses: A, B, and C.

AP Physics A

AP Physics A refers to general introductory physics courses that are not mathematically rigorous. According to the College Board (the entity that manages the Advanced Placement Program exams), it is generally intended for those not majoring in a science-related field. The level of mathematical sophistication usually includes some algebra and may extend to simple trigonometry, but rarely beyond. There is currently no AP test associated with AP Physics A courses.

AP Physics B & C courses are more rigorous, and have advanced placement exams that correspond to them.

AP Physics B

It is a physics course that is separated into five different sections of study: Newtonian mechanics, electricity and magnetism, fluid mechanics and thermal physics, waves and optics, andatomic and nuclear physics.

AP Physics C

It comprises two exams, the first being on Newtonian mechanics and the second focusing on electricity and magnetism. Use of calculus in problem solving and in derivations is expected in both exams.

Best AP Physics Book

We have done some research and found out that the following two books are the best ones for students to study, prepare and get ready for AP Physics exams.

5 Steps To A 5 AP Physics B And C

This a great AP prep book because it makes physics easy and fun! Many students who have taken the AP physics test used this book and strongly recommend this book for AP Physics exam. This book emphasizes physics concepts over mathematics, which helps students to work toward a strong conceptual understanding of the natural world. Unlike most of textbooks, it is easy to be read and understood. The style is clear and straightforward, inserting mathematics where necessary. A lot of teachers and students think “5 Steps to a 5 AP Physics B and C” is the best AP exam preparation book.
The only negative side of the book is the low number of practice problems. Therefore, we recommend students to use the following book for practice more AP physics problems.

Cracking The AP Physics B Exam

Use the book, “5 steps to 5 AP Physics A and B”, to learn and review AP Physics concepts, and use this book, cracking AP Physics to practice because it offers more examples and practice problems. Therefore, learning from 5 steps and practicing on cracking Physics is the best approach to prepare for AP Physics exam.

Get and study the two AP prep books and score high in AP Physics exam!
